Community Center

The Gratz Community Center is a valuable part of our community, providing space for local businesses, organizations, and residents. The building is home to several businesses and community services, including Kline Chiropractic, Gratz Valley Karate, Thrivent Financial, and the Gratz/Lykens Township Food Bank.

In addition to its permanent tenants, the Community Center offers a social hall available for rental for family gatherings, celebrations, meetings, and other special events. Business and office rental space is also available.

I have read and agree to the terms below. The Borough will be in contact to discuss your rquest and/or send you a written agreement. This must be signed and returned before your rental date or at an agreed upon time.

1. THE RENTER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS AND THE CONDUCT OF THEIR GUESTS. IF ANY DAMAGE TO THE PREMISES OR THE PERSONAL PROPERTY OF THE GRATZ BOROUGH COMMUNITY CENTER SHOULD OCCUR DURING THE RENTAL PERIOD, THE RENTER SHALL BE FULLY FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE AND LIABLE FOR ALL SUCH DAMAGES. THE RENTER SHALL PROVIDE EVIDENCE OF GENERAL LIABILITY COVERAGE IF DAMAGES SHOULD OCCUR.

2. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL SHALL BE SOLD ON THE PREMISES. AN EVENT MAY ALLOW THEIR EVENT TO BE “BRING YOUR OWN BOTTLE” (BOYB), HOWEVER, ALCOHOL MAY ONLY BE CONSUMED ON THE PREMISES DURING THE PERMITTED HOURS OF THE EVENT (NOT TO EXCEED 10:00 PM) ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES MAY NOT BE CONSUMED BY PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF TWENTY-ONE (21). ANY PERSON EXHIBITING SIGNS OF INTOXICATION MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE EVENT. ANY EVENT HOST PERMITTING BYOB AT THEIR EVENT AGREES TO DEFEND, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD THE BOROUGH HARMLESS FOR ANY CLAIMS OR LIABILITY IN RELATION TO THE EVENT.

3. THE RENTER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CLEAN UP AFTER THE EVENT. ALL CLEAN UP MUST TAKE PLACE BEFORE LEAVING THE BUILDING THE DAY OF THE EVENT. IN THE EVENT THE RENTER FAILS TO COMPLY WITH THIS PROVISION, AND AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) SHALL BE MADE TO THE FINAL BILL.

4. A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) SHALL BE PAID AT THE SIGNING OF THE AGREEMENT, MADE PAYABLE TO THE GRATZ BOROUGH BUILDING AUTHORITY, IN ORDER TO RESERVE THE COMMUNITY CENTER. THE DEPOSIT SHALL BE APPLIED TO THE HOURLY RATE FOR THE RENTAL AND THE TOTAL ACCOUNT BALANCE WILL BE DUE UPON ENTRY TO THE BUILDING FOR THE SAID EVENT.

5. THE BUILDING AUTHORITY SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR DAMAGES TO ANY VEHICLES OR THEFT THEREFROM, WHILE SAID VEHICLES ARE PARKED ON THE PREMISES.
